The Baby Room
The Baby Room and outdoor play areas incorporate sensory activities and media. Sensory play is proven to stimulate babies this is achieved through activities incorporating touch smell, taste, movement, balance, sight and hearing.
This room is centred on transitioning babies from home into nursery in a nurturing, safe and homely environment. They enjoy their first stages of learning through carefully planned activities and play.
We gently transition babies through to the younger toddler group when they are ready.
Young Toddlers
The younger toddler room is a bright lively room, where singing and dancing is a regular occurrence.
There is direct access to their own garden area with a range of toys and activities carefully planned for these children.
There are lots of chances to explore and discover through physical, sensory and messy play.
The children gain their confidence ready to progress to the older toddler group.
Older Toddlers
The Older Toddler room offers an ideal environment to stimulate learning and discovery.
The room has many exciting areas and activities, including our popular role-play area. This fosters imagination, language and sharing.
The nursery supports parents with potty training. Parents are given daily updates on their child’s day in nursery.
Children are supported in developing skills such as sharing, hand washing and appropriate activities in preparation for transitioning to the pre-school.
Pre-School
The Pre-School room is a dedicated learning environment that provides interesting activities designed to stimulate young minds.
Activities are carefully planned to ensure children’s readiness for school. Developing both their independence and self-awareness as part of this preparation.
We have close links with all of the local schools, fostering relationships with local reception teachers to ensure a smooth transition into school.

Outdoor classroom
In addition to the outdoor play areas, the children make use of an outdoor classroom. During the warmer months the children enjoy story time and outdoor activities in a sheltered area of the garden.
All year round Brook House Farm now offer an optional Forest School. This turns the sheltered outdoor classroom into an exciting woodland adventure ground with slides, dens, hammocks, and more. The children have a thrilling experience while learning forest and outdoor skills from a professional forest school tutor.
