Safety
The nursery is a safe and secure environment. Safety measures are reinforced through educating the children, including road safety, and safe practice leaving the building.
Policy documents and risk assessments are all in place. Your data is fully compliant with GDPR.
Safeguarding
Children’s safety is at the heart of all we do. All of our staff are fully trained and knowledgeable in our safeguarding policies to give your peace of mind whilst your children are in our care.
British Values
At Brook House Farm we encourage British Values by listening to children’s and parents voices. Children are taught the values and reasons of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.
care and education
To provide a caring and supportive environment for children to play and learn
Principals of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS)
We work towards the set of principles set out in the EYFS and monitor the children to ensure all aspects of physical, emotional and intellectual growth are encouraged.
Nurturing environment
The nursery has been thoughtfully designed to encourage the childrens interests and confidence. We ensure children feel safe and secure in our homely setting.
Development
We aim to encourage children to be aware of the world around them, and to explore and question.
Parent partnership
We aim to form a positive home to nursery link by fostering mutual trust, enjoyment and fun.
Internet safety
We do not use social media (although we closely monitor) to ensure safety.
Actively promoting care for the environment
Children are taught the importance of caring for the environment. Examples include feeding birds, recycling and a bug hotel.
Reducing our carbon footprint and caring for the planet
In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, parents are encouraged to walk when possible, to support this we offer onsite buggy storage.
We are making a conscious effort to cut down on paper. We are aiming to have all communications and documentation digital, with only key notices printed out.
We are actively avoiding microplastics (such as glitter!) and favouring environmentally friendly alternatives.
We are favouring natural options for our garden, with new furniture purchases in wood rather than plastic, sensory herbs and flowers and encouraging lots of mud and bark for the newly expanded mud kitchen!
Staff
We select enthusiastic, well-qualified and experienced staff, who are caring and nurturing.
